Over the years, Humanist Ottawa has come out in favour of a number of policy positions in support of advocacy for public policy based on secularism, science, reason and compassion.
Physicians and the Human Rights Code
Humanist Ottawa participated in a consultation by the Ontario College of Physicians to argue for a ban on the practice of allowing physicians to refuse access to services or medications on religious grounds.
Speaking out on the “March for Life” – The annual parade where Catholic schools use public tax dollars to make children march against the right of Canadians to access abortion services.
Humanist Ottawa has also supported a number of resolutions on various policy issues in collaboration with Humanist Canada over the last 50 years.
